It was vacation, and yes, I confess, I was a total tourist and enjoyed Pier 39. Great shops, really great food. Perfect place to wander around and enjoy the kinds of crowds you are willing to deal with because it's a vacation.

Yes it is a tourist trap. Yes the stores are all over-priced. Yes it is crowded. Yes the restaurants are over-priced mediocre food. But I will be damned if I still just can't resist this place. A spectacular people watching venue. A nice…

I took my parents here over the weekend. Yes, it is a touristy spot but sometimes it is nice to be a tourist in your own town!
